Zemanta Tech Circle is a Circle (Duh) of ‘Amazing’ Product/Tech Blogs

Slovenian content technology company Zemanta today released the Zemanta Tech Circle, a curated blogroll network that shows related articles from the circle's member bloggers, including top authors such as Fred Wilson. Starting as a small network and somewhat of an experiment, the Circle could bring back blogrolls in a big way - at least in the startup/tech blogging space.

Slovenian content technology company Zemanta today released the Zemanta Tech Circle, a curated blogroll network that shows related articles from the circle’s member bloggers, including top authors such as Fred Wilson. Starting as a small network and somewhat of an experiment, the Circle could bring back blogrolls in a big way – at least in the startup/tech blogging space.

Blogrolls are Back – in Tech?!

As Zemanta’s Bostjan Spetic says, the Zemanta Tech Circle wants to be “a simple way to recommends highly related content“. Interestingly, they don’t see the Circle as something for publications or even journalists (making is a bit sad), but actually for practitioners of the technology business space that can share high quality knowledge (which again makes us smile).

Zemanta’s Tech Circle currently includes a number of high profile members including Homebrew’s Hunter Walk and ex-Connected HQ’s Sachin Rekhi. Wilson, particularly, is an investor in Zemanta. In practise, the Zemanta Tech Circle is a simple javascript widget shown on the network member blogs as a number of “related” articles. The projects starts as Spetic says “a couple of friends who write amazing product/tech blogs” but could in time become an interesting network of bloggers, with an emphasis on product and startup topics. Bloggers can apply to join the Circle through Zemanta’s website.
