The Web Summit will feature over 500 startups exhibiting to the partners of the top VC firms in the world: Index Ventures to Atomico, Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, KPCB and many others. While some events in Europe adopt a ‘pay to pitch’ attitude the Sunmmit’s Alhpa program is offering a select number of startups the opportunity to exhibit for the simple price of a ticket.
Startups can also compete for the top spot in PITCH – sponsored by Box. Pitch will seek out the best and most high potential startup from an incredible list of judges that last year included Youtube founder Jawed Karim, acclaimed blogger Robert Scoble and Michael Birch of Bebo among others. This year’s winner will receive a prize to the value of €500,000, making it one of the largest prize funds for a startup in the world. Web Summit founder Paddy Cosgrave said:
We have an unrivalled platform of the most incredible VC’s and entrepreneurs, it’s really the only place in Europe to launch or build a startup from. Smart Things and Vine were among the startups that exhibited or pitched last year and we’re looking for the next crop of incredible companies now.
The Web Summit takes place in Dublin this October 30th and 31st. See you there!
