Telerik Organizes Its First European Hackathon, With $16,000 Prize Pool

Bulgarian mobile app development platform Telerik is is organizing its first ever European hackathon, taking place October 17-19, 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Developers and tech enthusiasts from across the continent will have 48 hours to build the next revolutionary mobile app using the company’s end-to-end platform.

Developers and tech enthusiasts from across the continent will have 48 hours to build the next revolutionary mobile app using the company’s end-to-end platform.

All developers interested in joining the event must be quick to register, as the number of seats is limited to 200 participants. Teams will compete to win $10,000 for the first place – among the single largest hackathon prizes ever offered in the CEE region— as well as second and third place prizes of $5,000 and $1,000 respectively. Each participant will also get a free one-year license for the award-winning Telerik Platform.

Telerik has high expectations from their contestants – beautiful, innovative and easy to use mobile apps created on the Telerik platform. The panel of judges will be looking for the best-in-class user experience, originality and utility, and the winners will be announced at the end of the two-day competition.

This motivation behinf the Hackathon is to give something back to the European developer community, said Faris Sweis, Chief echnical Officer in Telerik:

Registration is now open and will close at 5 pm Eastern European Time (UTC +2) on October 15, 2014. The Telerik Hackathon is open to all participants 18 years of age or older, either as individuals or as part of a team of up to five people. The hackathon will take place at Telerik Academy in the Telerik HQ campus in Mladost 1A in Sofia, Bulgaria.
