TechCrunch Balkans Meetup in Zagreb: The Winner is Sizem, the App that Loves Your Boobs!

Third TechCrunch Balkans Meetup was held last night. After Sofia, Belgrade and miles and miles of roads we crossed during the last few days, we have finally reached Zagreb. That was the place where John Biggs, East Coast Editor of TechCrunch, listened to Croatian startups (and one from Israel as well) and decided, along with other jury members, that demo table at TC Disrupt in Berlin goes to Sizem!

Third TechCrunch Balkans Meetup, organized by Netocratic, was held last night.

Sizem is a startup that we mentioned earlier at Netocratic. It is a mobile and web application with a memorable description: An app that loves your boobs. It should be very helpful to women all around the world that have a problem with finding the right bra. Also, startup Mash.me, a free tool for creating animations, without expensive software and hardware, won a ticket for TechCrunch Disrupt. Other than John Biggs, other members of the jury were Goran Krajnovic and Boris Drilo, T-HT, Cosmin Ochisor, hub:raum, Rodoljub Petrovic, Celtra, Marko Skomersic, Infobip and Natasa Djukanovic, Domain.me, who was really pleased to see that many startups that pitched that evening chose .me for their domain.

Startups in Zagreb

Other than Sizem and Mash.me, Zagreb welcomed Usertest.me, Collabmate.me, Visiobike and Israelian Lawya. Usertest.me team had their first pitch at TC Balkas. Their product is an intuitive platform for comprehensive testing of your product, available on all devices and easy to use. Collabmate.me is an application for roommates’ collaboration, replacing old style fashion whiteboard.

Visiobike was the only hardware startup – an electric bike. Its frame is made out of carbon and it is controlled by a smartphone app. Alexander Gambarian came all the way from Israel to show his product, Lawya, an app that will help people get the legal information and to connect find the right lawyers for their cases.

There is hope for the “little ones”

John Biggs encouraged all the startups – he was there for all the “small” people with startups that solve concrete problems:

I don’t care about Facebook, I don’t care about Google. I care what you little guys do in the ground. You have ideas that fill a need. You know what your specific market needs. Yes, gunding is hard to find and there are plenty sharks ready to bite. But you can make it.

A reminder, other than T-HT, hub:raum, Domain.me, Celtra and Infobip, event’s partners are BlackBerry and Renault. Thanks to them, TechCrunch Balkans Meetup is moving to Ljubljana tomorrow!
