The TechCrunch Balkans Meetup tour is over! The last event was held in Slovenia’s capital city, Ljubljana, which hosted many members of the local startup scene. It was the last chance to pitch to John Biggs, East Coast Editor of TechCrunch, and the jury decided – the best startup, which gets a demo table at TechCrunch Disrtupt in Berlin, was eBeat, while Lumu gets the ticket for the same conference!
Third TechCrunch Balkans Meetup was held last night. After Sofia, Belgrade and miles and miles of roads we crossed during the last few days, we have finally reached Zagreb. That was the place where John Biggs, East Coast Editor of TechCrunch, listened to Croatian startups (and one from Israel as well) and decided, along with other jury members, that demo table at TC Disrupt in Berlin goes to Sizem!
After Bulgaria, TechCrunch Balkans Meetup moved to Serbia. More than 200 people from Belgrade startup scene gathered to hear what TechCrunch’s East Coast Editor, John Biggs, has to say. Also, a few of them got a chance to pitch their ideas to him and to the other members of the TC Balkans Meetup crew.
The first TechCrunch Balkans meetup in Sofia begun with a loud whistle from Dilyan Dimitrov, founder of the Bulgarian accelerator Eleven, the host of this event. It was startup time! That is right, TechCrunch Balkans, organized by Netocratic, is being held throughout this week – we will have lectures, panels and the most important thing – pitches in front of John Biggs!
