Czech social media powerhouse Socialbakers and Croatian ad startup Socialbrando have confirmed to Netocratic an acquisition in which the Prague-based social media analytics company is buying the Split-based ad platform startup Socialbrando to add its offering to its suite of social media tools, include a professional analytics package and "builder" app.
Travabled is a new Croatian startup that is trying to raise money on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo for their global travel and booking service, a Airbnb or Booking.com for people with disabilities. Beside the actual booking tailored to its key audience, Travabled would give travelers and their families and partners lots of information on the accessibillity of venues, locations etc. It was actually the inaccessibility of Madame Toussad’s in Amsterdam that made cofounder Stipe Splivalo come up for the idea for Travabled, due to his own use of a wheelchair.
The Zagreb Entrepreneurship Incubator, ZIP (Zagrebacki inkubator poduzetništva), presented the first 7 startups to enter it's new coworking space, one of the first in Croatia in general, today in Zagreb. They are Fieldpod, Content KOD, BackWay, Indoor Vision, Publiconn, Mash.me and Digital distribution of graphic novels. While ZIP is not an accelerator and doesn't fund startups, the news was well received by the local startup community that has lacked true support in previous years. Now, the Zagreb-based incubator will also be advised by Stefan Glaenzer, Seedcamp's Carlos Espinal and Dave McClure!
