Zemanta Raises Additional $2 Million as It Pivots Toward Content Marketing

What started as a blogging tool and one of Southeastern Europe's earliest tech startups, Zemanta, is pivoting toward content marketing with a new round of funding from Fred Wilson's Union Square Ventures and Social Starts: $2 million to be exact. As Zemanta's new CEO Todd Sawicki points out, the new capital will help Zemanta invest in native ad and content-based technologies.

Startup Spotlight Finalists Announced: Croatian Zzzzapp and Serbian TruckTrack and DataMaid going to How To Web Conference

Startups from all over CEE have submitted their applications for this year's Startup Spotlight competition. Out of all those applications, 32 finalists were chosen to pitch at the How To Web conference in Romania. These startups will first undergo a pitch rehearsal on November 11 in front o f the judges, and the best 8 startups from this stage will get to pitch on the How To Web main stage and compete for $20 000 worth of prize money.
