FIPPPThe European Commission is organizing a workshop to discuss the forthcoming €100m funding stream for SMEs and web entrepreneurs, known as the 3rd call of the Future Internet Public-Private Partnership (FI-PPP). The event will bring together accelerators, coworking spaces, crowdfunding platforms, business angels, venture capitalists and company investment funds, to discuss the call in detail and connect the different players interested in this opportunity.

In the context of the Future Internet PPP, the European Union provides participants (e.g. regional development agencies, SME associations, accelerators, company investment funds, etc.) with funding opportunities (100 million euros budget for up to 20 projects) to distribute within network of SMEs and Web entrepreneurs. At least 80% of the funding should be forwarded to innovative players such as SMEs, Web entrepreneurs, ICT developers, etc. through open calls. The funding to SMEs and Web entrepreneurs will be used to develop new applications and services on top of innovative technologies, thereby validating those technologies. Funding per SME or Web Entrepreneur will typically be in the order of 50.000 – 150.000 Euros.

This event is part of the Startup Europe (SE) initiative of the Digital Agenda, which aims to help tech entrepreneurs start, maintain and grow their businesses in Europe. The SE Accelerators Assembly, the SE Web Investment Forum and the SE Crowdfunding platforms are supporting this event and helping with the promotion among their networks.

The event will take place today, on July 2nd 2013, 10:00-17:00 at the European Commission, Brussels. A web-streaming solution for all interested people is also available.
