Socialbakers just announced that it secured $26 million in incremental funding in order to expand the business even further. This company had a significant growth in clients and employees during the last year, so it will be pretty interesting to see what this investment brings.

New funding is led by Index Ventures, with existing investor Earlybird participating. The social analytics company has now raised a total of $34 million. It grew revenue three-fold in 2013 and today it has more than 2000 clients (around 1000 were added in the last 12 months, including Samsung, LVMH, Discovery, Disney and Universal) and doubled the employee headcount from 150 to 300. It plans to expand to more than 400 in 2014. Socialbakers monitors 86,7 billion Facebook, Twitter and YouTube fans, followers and subscribers. The Socialbakers.com page has more than 1 000 000 visitors per month. There are more than 400 000 subscribed marketers, 8 000 000 social profiles are monitored daily and 200 000 profiles are monitored by user suggestions.

Social is defining the future of marketing

Socialbakers will dedicate this latest investment to new product development and strengthening client support, sales and marketing in the USA, as well as other markets around the world. Jan Rezab, Socialbakers CEO, said:

Social is defining the future of marketing, but marketers don’t have the insights they need into social behavior to make the right decisions. Socialbakers is uniquely positioned to deliver the much needed insight into content, engagement and advertising that enables marketers to succeed in social marketing. This funding will further establish our authority in social analytics, publishing and advertising to brands and agencies based in the USA, and globally.

During Netocratic’s recent trip to Prague, we visited the Socialbakers’ headquarters – here are a few photos we took during the tour:

If you want to chat with Socialbakers CEO Jan Rezab about the funding and social media topics, you can join the live Hangout on Thursday at 16:00 pm CET (10:00 am EST). As a warm up, read our interview with Jan we made just before Socialbakers Engage conference in New York.
