As Marketing Rockstars conference is about to start for the first time, we spoke to young Managing partners Stefan Stücklschweiger and Thiemo Gillissen, about their overall vision of the future marketing, young talents and successful tomorrow. You may have noticed the raise of young entrepreneurs, bragging about their brilliant ideas, but what struck us with Thiemo, Stefan and their team is an unseen lucidity that shapes these young people into an amazing push-forward team, rarely to be met within such a young population.
The plan for the current marketing scene transformation
Thiemo and Stefan present the new Austrian marketing spirit and the new drive in the marketing scene, badly needed for the current status quo scene in this country, where old-school economy and uptight suit-wearing business people run around, completely overtaken by their jobs, forgetting about its fun side.
Being a part of marketing, communication and development, we became quite unsatisfied with the current Austrian marketing scene, so were thought of a way to modernize it, create something new and fresh. We figured out it is time to unite our knowledge, skills and young entrepreneur spirits. That’s how we created Marketing Rockstars.
They represent a new type of fresh Austrian entrepreneurship, driven by visions, heavy on innovation and sustainability, heading for new ground apart from well-tried paths. They have relevant experience in marketing, communication, management, distribution and business development and are well aware of the fact that successful brands must be flexible due to the constant and rapid change in today’s world.
Conference with thrilling before/after events
Marketing Rockstars conference is about to be launched for the first time. May 16 is the conference day, but as Thiemo and Stefan say, there are other side-events that will definitely spice up the conference in general.
Thursday, May 15, we have an exclusive opening evening in Needle, planned for 200 visitors with our top speakers, selected partners and friends. On Friday, May 16, Marketing Rockstarts conference is going on in Messe Congress Hall, and then on Saturday, May 17, we have a business brunch.
Creating lifestyle marketing
Thiemo and Stefan agree over one thing – marketing is a discipline that rocks! They searched for the right word that would best describe thier passion and the conference’s style. It was also very important that the chosen name is understandable for everybody.
On 1 side, there is marketing as we all know it, but on the other side, we wanted a kind of a rockstar attitude – party with partners, clients and customers, then go back to office the next day and bring business forward. We work with people who push business forward, who are innovative, so it is a good thing to merge fun and work, and present a new shape of marketing – the one where you combine work and life with your clients. It is necessary to approach your work as lifestyle, not just job. What you do should be fulfilling for you in order to do it successfully.
Think ahead for successful tomorrow
Thinking about an idea of how to accelerate young talents in marketing and communication, Thiemo and Stefan came up with a brilliant idea! Last November, they launched Marketing Rocstars Academy – a 7-month-long session for students under 25, who wish to expand their college knowledge with a perfect practical upgrade. The academy provides 6 different topics with 2 sessions per month. Each session introduces a variety of top Austrian experts from the marketing, communication, PR and media industry.
The academy unrolls in a very relaxed atmosphere, with experts working with students. After every session, there is a case study for students who also get an opportunity for internship in the lecturers‘ companies. At this moment, the studnets get their certificate when they finish, but within 3 or 5 years we plan to transform our academy into a real university.
Marketing Rockstars TV
Talking to these young entrepreneurs, we couldn’t help asking them about their future plans. We somehow knew they are up to something very interesting.
Yes, there is something we plan to push during the next few months. This week we are about to launch our online TV, and the first edition will be out with marketing professionals from different global companies, COO of Microsoft Austria, Marketing Director of McDonalds Austria and Managing Director of Samsung Austria. We want to bring such professionals on our Marketing Rockstars TV and highlight their professional and success stories, their thoughts on the future of their brands and the way they create their brands‘ communication. Stay tuned for this!
It is more than obvious that Thiemo and Stefan are facing a bright and successful future! Their team stands right in the middle of the preparations for Austria’s most ambitious marketing event, the Marketing Rockstars Festival 2014, ready to rock next week. Apart from these challenges, Thiemo and Stefan are doing what they’re best at: breaking the rules, thinking outside the box and launching new ventures.
