Eleven’s Third Batch: 13 Lucky Startups Go to Sofia!

elevenAs we exclusively find out from Bulgarian accelerator Eleven, lucky 13 startups are selected for Eleven’s third batch! It is a first selection round in 2013 and Eleven’s team reviewed over 300 applications from more than 20 countries in order to find the best among them. So, they are: CaseTrek, Clicko, Divesquare, GymRealm, Kid-A-Mom, Lionsharp, NumberPicture, Skiipi, Social Ninja, Store To Door, Wobeek, WonderSwamp and Zzzzapp!

Here are more details about the startups:

1. CaseTrek – Serbia

Founded by Ivan and Alexander from Serbia, CaseTrek aims to radically improve the workflows of small law firms and independent legal consultants, by providing a cloud-based platform for real time case and client management.

2. Clicko – Bulgaria

Clicko’s team has over 10 years of engineering experience, and are developing an exciting hardware product that allows you to open doors with your smartphone. Slide to unlock, but this time in real life!

3. Divesquare – Bulgaria

This team of diving professionals and enthusiasts is developing the first universal platform for the radically growing global community of recreational divers.

4. GymRealm – Bulgaria

Dimitar and Martin from Sofia-based GymRealm are changing the way gym-goers interact with their gyms and with each other.

5. Kid-A-Mom – Bulgaria

Kid-A-Mom’s team has previously founded two highly successful regional media businesses, and are building a completely new way for kids to enjoy their favorite shows online.

6. Lionsharp – Armenia, UK, Italy

Lionsharp’s great team of engineers, originally from Yerevan and London, is working on a tool that will allow you to incorporate your physical gestures and voice in interactive brainstorming. Forget about traveling to meetings: with Lionsharp you can talk, draw, drag, and drop with anyone, anywhere, right in front of your office whiteboard.

7. NumberPicture – Bulgaria, South Africa

This team of South African and Bulgarian founders is developing a radically simple way to generate beautiful visualizations from any set of data within seconds through NumberPicture. No more ugly, standard charts in Excel!

8. Skiipi – Croatia

Ivan, Marko, and Mitch are successful serial entrepreneurs from Zagreb, and are joining Eleven to develop a game-changing hardware and software solution to use your smartphone on the ski slope. Think track records, challenges, and a walkie-talkie; all in one – Skiipi.

9. Social Ninja – Bulgaria, UK

This London/Sofia team is offering a low-cost and localized tool to run social media marketing campaigns. Think WordPress for brand management.

10. Store To Door – Bulgaria

Eleven’s new most fashionable team includes a top model, a top fashion editor, and a top e-marketplace developer, developing the next big thing in high-end fashion retail.

11. Wobeek – Serbia

This great team of top developers and bee lovers from Novi Sad in Serbia is building a groundbreaking process management product for the beekeeper industry, Wobeek.

12. WonderSwamp – Bulgaria

The guys of WonderSwamp are the Spielbergs of short online video, changing the way in which online videos are produced and distributed.

13. Zzzzapp – Croatia, USA

Eleven’s first team from the sunny Adriatic, Zzzzapp, is offering any business with a WiFi router a way to monetize their internet connection.

Also, Eleven will become a much more playful place to come in April, as they are also starting their first batch of gaming and gamification companies, in partnership with XS Software. They are currently in the selection process, so we are looking forward in hearing more good news from this accelerator!

US Outbrain acquires Slovenian Zemanta

At their 10th anniversary, the Slovenian high-tech company Zemanta d.o.o. announced that it was entirely acquired by Outbrain from the US, the world’s largest premium content discovery platform. The sum that Outbrain paid for Zemanta’s technology, products and team remains a business secret, and Zemanta’s co-founders Andraž Tori and Boštjan Špetič will join Outbrain.
