5 pieces of advice for startups
Several of Croatian startup projects had the opportunity to participate at the Collision Conference in Las Vegas at the beginning of this month. These projects include MemoAngel (web and mobile app for preserving memories of loved ones who passed away), Buzzz (app for a more comfortable life of parents and their kids of kindergarten age) Liana (app for efficient connecting with persons who are travelling or living abroad) and Vyooit (business applications for the live Point of View video streaming technology). This post is about our time in Las Vegas and the things we have learned.
Slovene startup conference PODIM has gathered entrepreneurs from the whole CEE region in Maribor. We’ve had a chat with Gina Waldhorn from Evol8tion, one of the keynote speakers at the conference, who shared her views on collaboration between big corporations and startups.
PODIM, this year in its 35th year, is one of the largest conferences on entrepreneurship and innovation in CEE region. PODIM 2015 that will take place in Maribor, Slovenia on May 13th and 14th and will focus on collaboration between startups and established companies. The conference will be visited by more than 600 startupers, entrepreneurs and investors. We’ve had a chat with Mike Edelhart, lead partner at SocialStarts fund.
After spending the last several years building entrepreneurship communities from the ground up in Ukraine (Vitaly), Baltics (Mike), and Balkans (me), this year we decided to box the best ingredients and moving parts of those efforts into a package and distribute it across Central/Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The result is Startup AddVenture, which on the surface of it is a series of events, but deeper inside a community of like-minded individuals, who are committed to helping each other build globally relevant tech and ventures.
Agile Adria, the biggest agile/lean conference in southeastern Europe, will take place next week in Croatia. The event wants to gather agilests from Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the keynote speakers is Ángel Medinilla. Ángel has more than 17 years of working experience in the ICT market and he started his own agile consulting firm in 2007. Eight years later he will talk about the new age of Agile and the influence of Lean Startups. Can well established companies be agile like startups?
